Standard Rose ‘Apricot Nectar’ is a beautiful flowering rose producing small clusters of large, apricot-yellow blooms with the delicate form and appearance of a traditional Tea Rose. Its softly coloured flowers have a lovely fragrance, adding both colour and scent to the garden.

With its vigorous growth and elegant, upright standard form, ‘Apricot Nectar’ creates a striking feature in garden beds, borders and formal planting schemes.

Grown on a clear stem with a rounded flowering canopy, standard roses bring flowers closer to eye level, making them particularly enjoyable along pathways, near outdoor seating areas or as a feature amongst lower-growing plants.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water thoroughly after planting and continue watering regularly while establishing, particularly during extended periods of hot, dry weather.

Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes to encourage healthy growth and continued flowering. Apply mulch in spring to help retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it clear of the stem.

Prune in July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, to maintain a balanced, rounded canopy. Shorten healthy flowering stems by approximately one-third, cutting just above an outward-facing bud. Remove dead, damaged or crossing branches to encourage strong new growth.

Remove spent flowers throughout the flowering season to encourage further blooms.

Standard roses should be supported with a sturdy stake, particularly in exposed or windy positions. Regularly remove any shoots developing from the clear stem or below the graft to maintain the standard form.
