Standard Rose Dark Desire - 90cm/3ft | 25cm Pot

Standard Rose ‘Dark Desire®’ (Kordiagraf) is a spectacular Hybrid Tea rose from the renowned Parfuma® Collection by Kordes, combining dramatic colour, exceptional fragrance and excellent disease resistance. Flowering repeatedly from late spring through to autumn, it produces luxurious, deeply cupped blooms in rich shades of violet-red, crimson and deep purple.

The flowers emerge from almost black buds before opening to reveal velvety red and violet tones that deepen as they mature. Its complex fragrance combines classic rose and lemon verbena with notes of rose geranium, lychee, elderflower, peach, plum, honey and subtle earthy tones.

Grown as a standard rose, the flowering canopy is elevated above a clear stem, bringing its richly coloured and highly fragrant blooms closer to eye level. Glossy green foliage provides an attractive backdrop, while the flowers are also excellent for cutting.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply while establishing and during extended dry periods. Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes. Mulch in spring to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering. Prune the flowering canopy in July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, removing dead, damaged and weak growth and maintaining a balanced shape.
Keep the main stem securely supported with a sturdy stake, particularly in exposed or windy positions. Remove any shoots that appear from the stem or below the graft. Remove fallen leaves from around the base and monitor for common rose pests and diseases.
