Standard Rose Gallipoli Centenary Rose - 90cm/3ft | 25cm Pot

Standard Rose ‘Gallipoli Centenary’ (Kortutu) is a striking deep red rose selected to commemorate the Gallipoli Centenary in 2015.
Bred by renowned German rose breeder Kordes, ‘Gallipoli Centenary’ produces large, elegant deep red blooms, appearing both individually and in clusters. Its rich colouring and classic flower form make it particularly effective when grown as a standard, with the flowering canopy displayed prominently above a clear stem.

The variety is also recognised for its strong health and disease tolerance. It has received international recognition including a gold award, as well as Best Shrub and a Bronze Medal at Australia’s National Rose Trial Garden.

As a standard rose, it makes a meaningful choice for commemorative planting while also providing strong colour and structure within the garden.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply while establishing and during extended dry periods. Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes. Mulch in spring to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering. Prune the flowering canopy in July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, removing dead, damaged and weak growth and maintaining a balanced shape.

Keep the main stem securely supported with a sturdy stake, particularly in exposed or windy positions. Remove any shoots that appear from the stem or below the graft. Remove fallen leaves from around the base and monitor for common rose pests and diseases.
