Strelitzia Reginae.
Common Name: Bird of Paradise.
An ornamental clumping palm-like plant that will add a tropical touch to your garden or sunny interior room. In spring and early summer, it bears unusual beak-like orange and vivid blue flowers appear on the ends of the thick green stems. Once established these strelitzias will be tolerant of light frost. With the right care and adequate bright light, this plant will tolerate an indoor position in cooler climates.
The plant pictured is just one example of our stock, each plant may vary slightly. We will always choose the happiest and healthiest specimen for you.
Best grown in a bright spot indoors, in a pot with drainage or in the garden in a warm sunny position - avoid locations that get the harsh sun.
Water well over extended dry periods.
Prune after flowering.
If Indoors:
- Water when two-three inches feel dry. Water more in summer, less in winter.
- Slow growing with height reaching up to 1-3m indoors.
- It may not flower when grown indoors.
