Wisteria Floribunda Rosea - 20cm Pot

Wisteria floribunda ‘Rosea’ is a beautiful deciduous climber producing long, cascading clusters of sweetly scented pale pink flowers in spring. Its delicate blooms hang gracefully from the branches, creating a lovely display when trained over pergolas, arches and arbours.

A vigorous but slightly more compact variety than some other Wisterias, ‘Rosea’ is well suited to gardens where a flowering climber is wanted without quite the same scale as larger varieties. Its twining stems grow in a clockwise direction, gradually forming a strong, woody framework.

Following its spring flowering, fresh green foliage develops into a leafy canopy, providing welcome shade throughout summer. In winter, the leaves fall, allowing sunlight through to the space below.

Care & Growing Tips

Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. A sunny position encourages the best flowering. Water regularly while establishing and during extended periods of hot, dry weather.

Provide a strong, permanent support structure, as mature Wisteria develops substantial woody stems that become heavy over time.

Prune after flowering to control vigorous growth and maintain the desired shape. A second prune in winter, while the plant is dormant, helps manage size and encourage flowering spurs for the following spring.

Avoid excessive high-nitrogen fertiliser, which can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
