Finger Lime Red Champagne.
Botanical Name: Micricutrus australasica.
The Red Champagne finger lime is highly favored for its versatility and mild flavor. It can be consumed fresh and its eating quality is quite adaptable. The fruit's color is more vibrant in cooler climates. The plant has a medium vigor and a well-developed, dense canopy. This variety boasts a regular fruit set and a long fruiting season, although the crop may be smaller during winter months. One notable trait is the Red Champagne fruit's impressive shelf life, which surpasses that of other finger lime varieties.
Aroma of fresh citrus with some cooked notes. The taste is citrus, and tart with some astringency and bitterness. The red Finger lime's aroma also has slight fermented notes.
Plant in a full sun position in well-draining soil.
Water during the warmer months especially when fruits are forming. In containers water every 3-4 days, more in hot weather.
It can grow to 4-6m tall and 2m wide.
