DESCRIPTION

Persimmon Fuyu.

Botanical Name: Diospyros lotus.

Medium round fruit with orange skin and flesh, it is sweet when eaten fresh, and used in cooking. This is the most popular non-astringent persimmon grown in home gardens, often more popular that the astringent varieties as it can be eaten when firm. Prune back old growth each year, as fruit is borne on new growth.

Self pollinating.

Water immediately after planting. Water well until established, particularly during periods of extended heat.
