Raspberry Chilcotin.
Botanical Name: Rubus idaeus.
The Raspberry is easily grown in the home garden, its arching canes are covered with delicious fruit that is produced in autumn on canes grown that summer. Raspberries are packed with nutrients and in particular, they are high in Vitamin C and Manganese. Their subtle tart taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture make them ideal for eating fresh or for use in pies, desserts, cakes and muffins. Chilcotin produces a summer and autumn crop of large, firm juicy red berries on long canes.
This deciduous shrub prefers a sunny to partly shaded position in acidic, moist, well-drained soil.
Mulch well to conserve soil moisture and prune to remove smaller, weaker branches and to open up the plant.
Mature Size: H2 x W1.5m.
