DESCRIPTION

Rhaphiolepis Snow Maiden.

Also known as Indian Hawthorn.

A dwarf evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit and spreading branches that form a dense, round bush. It has shiny dark green foliage with subtly perfumed white flowers which appear in Winter and Spring. Blue-black berries appear in Summer following flowering. This plant makes an excellent informal, low border. Mass plant in garden beds for a striking foliage effect. A useful plant for underplanting trees because of its ability to perform well in semi-shaded areas. Lovely small container plant.

- A hardy plant that is well adapted to most soil types, but grows optimally in well-drained, fertile soil.
- Produces flowers in full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
- This is a relatively low-maintenance plant, which once established, requires minimal watering as it is resilient to drought, salt, wind, heat and frost.
- Minimal pruning in Spring may maintain shape and keep it compact in size. We recommend a well-balanced application of fertiliser in Summer, after flowering.
- This Plant may also benefit from mulching, being careful to avoid any root disturbance.
- It can grow Height to 1.0m Width to 50cm.
