Silver Birch.
Botanical Name: Betula Pendula Alba.
A deciduous tree valued for its ornamental shape, attractive bark and reliable autumn colour. Outer branches have pendulous tips with small bright green serrated leaves that become yellow in autumn. The slender trunk has white bark with dark markings making it a striking feature for the garden.
For best results plant in moist well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
Form a raised or doughnut-shaped ring of soil around the outer edge of the plant's root zone. This helps keep water where it's needed.
Fertilise and apply mulch in spring.
