Oak Scarlet.
Botanical Name: Quercus Coccinea.
A widely planted tree, Quercus coccinea is suitable for larger parks, gardens, open spaces, and street planting. The autumn color can be spectacular. Spring sees glossy green, deeply lobed new foliage and acorns produced can take up to two years to mature starting off green and turning pale brown with a deep cap covering them by half.
For best results plant in moist well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
Plant with plenty room to grow. Allow for the trunk to flare.
Fertilise and apply mulch in spring.
In ideal conditions this tree can grow to H12 x W8m.
