Wisteria ‘Amethyst Falls’ is a compact, well-behaved flowering climber that delivers impressive colour without the aggressive growth of traditional wisterias.
Bred through a premium plant program, this American variety is naturally smaller and easier to manage than many Asian wisterias, making it ideal for modern gardens and tighter spaces. In spring and summer, Amethyst Falls produces masses of deep lilac flowers on shorter racemes, creating a fuller, more impactful display.
Flowering begins in spring and often repeats through summer, offering long seasonal interest. Its controlled growth habit makes it suitable for training over trellises, posts and tripods, or allowing it to cascade gracefully over retaining walls, rockeries and embankments. Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance, Amethyst Falls suits gardeners who love the look of wisteria but want a more manageable plant.
Care & Growing Tips
Plant in moist, free-draining soil with other plants of similar water needs.
