Lagerstroemia ‘Pinky Pink™’ is an ultra-compact, pink-flowering crepe myrtle bred for colour, toughness and versatility. This dense, naturally tidy shrub produces vivid fuchsia-pink flowers set above rich, burgundy-toned foliage, creating a bold contrast that stands out in both modern and cottage-style gardens.
Flowering in early autumn, Pinky Pink™ delivers strong seasonal colour when many other plants are fading. Its compact habit makes it ideal for smaller gardens, borders and mass planting, while its deciduous nature allows winter sunlight to reach surrounding plants. Once established, it is drought tolerant and frost hardy, with the resilience to perform across a wide range of Australian climates, including dry, cold and humid regions.
Growing to approximately 1.2 metres high, Pinky Pink™ can be pruned annually to maintain a lower height of around 600mm, making it easy to shape for borders or low hedging.
Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun for best flowering and foliage colour. Water well for the first 13 weeks while establishing, with supplementary watering during the first summer. Apply a slow-release or manure-based fertiliser in spring. Prune back by 10–15cm annually to maintain density, or harder if a more compact shrub form is desired. Prefers slightly drier conditions but can tolerate occasional wet periods.
