Pear William Bon Chretien.
Botanical Name: Pyrus communis.
Medium to large sweet fruit, that is green when picked, ripening to yellow. Very juicy and smooth textured flesh, with an excellent flavour. This variety stores well with good keeping qualities. Used for fresh fruit, preserving, and cooking. An upright spreading tree suitable to espalier.
Suggested Pollinators: Beurre Bosc, Nijisseiki – may also be partially self fertile.
Pears produce best in full sun, though they can also tolerate partial sun.
They prefer light, rich soils with good drainage but will tolerate heavier, clay-rich soils.
